Winding the Clock Back with the Tile Floors

Beauty is nothing but an occasion of enjoyment and celebration. Natural pebble has those properties in them which are given by nature. They are mostly dark in color though lighter shades and even some brilliantly colored types are available.

Tile made with these are in demand for the things they give, like a natural touch to the space in which they are laid. They help reduce the cost of the cement required. Most of the space is taken up by this natural pebble.

The natural pebble is composed of various minerals comprising silica and minerals like manganese, copper, iron and nickel. It is found all round us. They are actually small pieces of rock which are washed up on the streams and river beds. It is the presence of minerals in the natural pebble which is responsible for its luster and color. May of the minerals is often local to the region. This means a particular area will only have certain kinds of minerals. All the rocks will have the same color and disposition as the rest of the herd.

The natural pebble is a testament to the actual transition of the time itself. Each rock piece will travel several thousand kilometers before it reaches its final destination. This will make the pebble to rub off all the corners and you are left with a smooth round and sometimes flat pebble. What originally was a hard and angular rock, has weathered down to a smooth and slightly smaller pebble. Tiles are made with the stones or chips which are brightly colored. Occasionally the stone or pebble filling may be dull to match with the rest of the floor. These are made by enmeshing the stones on to the wire mesh and keeping the tiles on the same color scheme which is giving a good tonal effect.

It was only fifty or so years back when the floors had nothing but cement on them. The designs on the floor were all hand painted. The floor has travelled a long way since then. That is besides the numerous adaptations which were made to give the floor its shape which it has now. Though the modern day floor never existed in the imaginations of our ancestors, it has progressed beyond the borders of imagination itself and created a special place for itself in the history of construction.

Natural pebble seems innocuous enough, its origins innocence personified. Where then is the twist in the tale? How did the floor transform? It is an enigma which has kept wise men at bay and to ponder on things more mundane. Fairy tale creations or sobriety, insipid or inspired, the origin itself has lost significance. The object or the result of the creation far exceeds the limits of the excesses dreamed of by the creators themselves. Pebbles on the street like vagrant dogs seeking solace are lost in their occasional portrayals of the lost souls and the tiles in the newfound positions of honor often tend to give these ancestral piers a miss by. Do we not love dogs then? We do, we love our tiles and we debate on the thrill of life which seems to grow every time we see these creations.

If the tile had not happened then perhaps some kinds of foods would have evolved differently. Maybe some battles would not have been fought at all and it is possible that some inventions would have passed the time barrier itself. But what is the point in this kind of guess game? Let us sleep with the knowledge that the world is now all the better for the tiles.
